Good to know before you book
You pay in two parts: the visit fee when you book, to reserve the time, and the State notarization fees at the appointment. The booking payment does not include the notarizations. Cancel or reschedule free up to 2 hours before. Inside 2 hours, half the visit fee is kept. If the signing cannot happen (no one there, no valid ID, the document is not ready, or the signer is not ready within 15 minutes of the appointment time), the visit fee is kept. State fees are paid at the appointment, before we stamp, and only for notarizations we actually perform. We take cash, card and Zelle, with no card surcharge. Businesses are invoiced.

The Texas Secretary of State is required to adjust the statutory amounts for inflation every five years. If you are reading this well after the date at the foot of the page, check the current figures with the Secretary of State.
Our fee, not a notarial fee
Our visit, time and handling fees
These are our own fees for the visit, for your time slot and for extra work. They are not notarial fees and are not set by the State, so they always appear on their own lines, once per visit, never per signature. We confirm the amount with you by text or email before anything is booked.

The law keeps these two things separate
State notarial fees are set by Texas Government Code § 406.024 and § 406.111. Travel and convenience fees are separate and are not notarial fees. Visit, time and handling fees are not set by the State of Texas, are quoted in advance, and are billed on separate lines. An itemized written bill is available on request.
Important: read this before your appointment
Do NOT sign your document ahead of time. Some documents must be signed in front of the notary, and we cannot always tell in advance which kind yours is. Signing early can mean starting over.
Come prepared.Bring an unexpired government photo ID for every signer, your document with every blank filled in except the signature, and any related paperwork. We do not provide witnesses: if your document needs them, bring your own.
We cannot give legal advice or prepare your document. We cannot write your document, fill it out for you, tell you which document you need, or explain what it means. Bring it already filled in. Ask whoever gave you the document, or a licensed Texas attorney.
All times are Central Time (CST/CDT).Please double-check the time if you are booking from another time zone.
Arrival times are estimates, not guarantees.Traffic, weather, road closures and earlier appointments can cause delays. If we are running late, we will call or text you.
We may decline a notarization.Texas law requires us to refuse in some situations, for example when ID is missing or a signer seems pressured. We also decline any appointment where we have concerns about safety.
Common questions
How much can a notary charge in Texas?
Texas Government Code § 406.024 sets the maximums: $10 for the first signature on an acknowledgment and $1 for each additional signature, $10 for administering an oath or affirmation with a certificate and seal, and $1 per page for copies. An online notarization may carry up to $25 more under Texas law. We charge the State maximum and nothing else per notarization. One visit fee is added once per visit, never per signature, on its own line. The Secretary of State is required to adjust the statutory amounts for inflation every five years.
Why is there a separate visit fee?
Because Texas law regulates the notarial act, not the trip. The visit is a separate, unregulated service and must be billed separately. Charging more than the statutory maximum by calling it a "notary fee" is unlawful, so we show both figures separately, every time.
How much does an apostille cost in Texas?
The Texas Secretary of State charges $15 per document, or $10 for adoption-related documents, capped at $100 per child's adoption. That fee is paid to the State, not to us. Only the Texas Secretary of State can issue an apostille. No private service can.
