The lake is why this trip is longer than it looks
Lake Highlands is 7.6 miles from Addison in a straight line and 10.9 miles by road. The reason is sitting right in the middle: White Rock Lake. You cannot drive across it, so the route runs around it, and a straight-line service radius would quietly overpromise on every appointment in 75231, 75238 and 75243. This site quotes road miles for exactly this reason.
Lake Highlands is a Dallas neighborhood rather than a separate municipality, so there is no standalone Census population for it and none is claimed on this page.
A neighborhood with a headquarters in it
Most residential areas borrow their employers from somewhere else. Lake Highlands does not: the Texas Instruments headquarters sits physically within it. That puts a large engineering and corporate workforce inside walking distance of the same streets where families are signing school forms, and it gives this page two audiences at once.
From the corporate side come employment and relocation documents, confidentiality and assignment agreements, corporate resolutions and signature pages, affidavits supporting immigration or benefits filings, and stock and account transfer forms. From the residential side come the documents of ordinary life: durable and medical powers of attorney, directives to physicians, warranty and transfer-on-death deeds, refinance packages, vehicle title transfers for TxDMV, minor travel consent letters ahead of school breaks, and self-proving affidavits attached to wills.
Where we meet
Lake Highlands is spread out and green, and appointments reflect that. We have signed at kitchen tables, in TI-area office lobbies, at coffee shops along Skillman and Audelia, and more than once at a picnic table near the 9.33-mile White Rock Lake trail because it was the only half-hour two signers could both make. The 66-acre Dallas Arboretum sits on the lake's eastern shore, and its car parks and cafés are a common neutral meeting point for families coordinating a signature between other plans. Wherever it is, we come to you; that is the whole point of a traveling notary.
What to have ready
Two things cause more rescheduled appointments than everything else combined: identification and witnesses. Bring an unexpired government-issued photo ID whose name matches the document, and if the document calls for witnesses, arrange and bring your own, each with a photo ID: we do not provide them, and a witness must not be someone who benefits from what is being signed. Whoever prepared the document can tell you how many it needs. Texas does allow a notary to act for a family member provided she holds no financial or beneficial interest in the transaction, worth knowing, since it comes up more often than people expect. And leave the document unsigned until we are in the room: a signature made before the notary arrives cannot be treated as though it were made in her presence.
Recording a Lake Highlands document
The neighborhood is entirely within Dallas County, so deeds and other recordable instruments go to the Dallas County Clerk. The Records Building at 500 Elm St Ste 2100, Dallas 75202 is the main office, and the North Dallas branch at 10056 Marsh Lane, Dallas 75229 handles the same filings without a downtown parking exercise. For most Lake Highlands addresses either is realistic; we will say which one makes sense for your errand.
Choosing between a visit and a session
Gwen holds a separate Texas online notary public commission alongside her standard one, so a remote audio-video session is a genuine option for most Lake Highlands documents: a single affidavit, a corporate signature page, a consent form. Two things decide it. First, whether every signer can meet the identity-proofing requirements online. Second, and absolutely: wills, codicils and testamentary trusts cannot be notarized remotely in Texas and must be signed in person. If those are in the stack, we drive around the lake and sit down with you.
We notarize documents you provide; we do not prepare, draft, select or advise on documents. Send the document type, the address and a time window through contact, or call or text us. Lake Highlands ZIPs 75243 and 75231 are in Zone 2, with a $25 visit fee ($35 for one notarization); 75238 and 75218 are in Zone 3, with a $45 visit fee ($55 for one notarization). The visit fee is charged once per visit, plus the $10 State fee per notarization. The ZIP box in the calculator on pricing gives the exact zone for your address, and the written quote confirms it. The total is confirmed in writing before we book, and the visit fee is listed alongside the Texas statutory fees on pricing; how a traveling appointment runs is set out on mobile notary.
