Local note

Castle Hills was fully annexed into the City of Lewisville on 15 November 2021 and is now a master-planned community within Lewisville

Castle Hills is Lewisville now

Start with the correction, because it turns up on real paperwork. Castle Hills was fully annexed into the City of Lewisville on 15 November 2021. It is no longer a census-designated place, and describing it as a separate community on a deed, an affidavit or a consent form is out of date. The accurate description is Castle Hills, a master-planned community in Lewisville. We check the municipality on every recordable document we handle out here, because forms and templates have not all caught up.

Lewisville itself is 14.2 driving miles from Addison, comfortably inside our 20-mile service radius. Lewisville ZIPs 75029, 75057, 75067 and 75077 are in Zone 3, so for individuals the visit fee is $45, charged once per visit, plus the $10 State fee per notarization: $55 for one notarization, $65 for two, quoted in writing before anything is booked. The ZIP code decides the zone: the ZIP box in the calculator on pricing gives the exact zone for your address, and the written quote confirms it.

State notarial fees are set by Texas Government Code § 406.024 and § 406.111. Travel and convenience fees are separate and are not notarial fees.

Appointments here are normally scheduled rather than same-hour.

A mortgage town, with an Addison connection

Lewisville's employer base leans financial and institutional: a JPMorgan Chase regional campus, Lewisville ISD, and Mr. Cooper, formerly Nationstar Mortgage. Mortgage servicing at that scale produces a steady stream of documents that live or die on a correctly completed notarial certificate: loan modifications, assumptions, subordinations, deeds of trust, releases, payoff statements and affidavits of lost instrument.

There is also a direct link back to our home town: Mary Kay moved its manufacturing and research operations from Addison to Lewisville in 2018, while keeping its global headquarters on Dallas Parkway in Addison. The route between the two is one we drive often.

The annex that makes Denton County easy

Most of Lewisville is in Denton County, with a portion in Dallas County. The Denton County Clerk's main office is at 1450 E McKinney Street, Denton 76209, a long way north. But the county operates an annex at 400 N Valley Parkway, inside Lewisville, which handles recordings without the trip to the county seat. That single address is the most useful thing on this page for anyone signing a deed here.

The Dallas County portion of the city is the exception. Those addresses record with the Dallas County Clerk instead, at the Records Building, 500 Elm St Ste 2100, Dallas 75202, or at the North Dallas branch, 10056 Marsh Lane, Dallas 75229. It is a small share of Lewisville, but sending a deed to Denton when it belongs in Dallas costs you the same week either way, so we settle the county from the property address before the document is executed rather than afterwards.

Where the appointments actually happen

  • At home, across Castle Hills, Old Town and the neighborhoods off FM 407 and Main Street: powers of attorney, deeds, refinances, school and travel consents.
  • At Medical City Lewisville and nearby care facilities: medical and durable powers of attorney, usually at short notice and often on a weekend.
  • At offices around the Vista Ridge Mall corridor and the I-35E business parks: corporate resolutions, employment affidavits, vendor and lease agreements.
  • Somewhere neutral: Old Town Lewisville near the Lewisville Grand Theater, or a lakeside spot, when a signer prefers not to meet at home.

Lewisville Lake also brings the paperwork of the water: boat and trailer titles, dock agreements and easements.

One honest number, and one hard rule

On population: several sources circulate a figure well above the 2020 Census count of 111,822. It is off-trend, we have not been able to verify it, and so this site quotes the Census figure only. That is the same standard we apply to every number on every page: if it cannot be sourced, it does not get published.

On documents: Gwen holds a separate Texas online notary public commission, so a remote audio-video session is available for most Lewisville work, including much of the mortgage servicing paperwork. The exception is absolute: wills, codicils and testamentary trusts cannot be notarized remotely in Texas and must be signed in person. We notarize documents you provide; we do not prepare, draft, select or advise on documents. See mobile notary for how the visit runs and pricing for the fee, then call or text us or use contact.
